Project Description
The Village of Mount Kisco initiated a multi-year project focused on site work and the necessary abatement of hazardous materials within its central municipal facility, Village Hall. A critical aspect of this initiative was the diligent identification, management, and monitoring of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) to ensure the health and safety of all personnel and the public throughout the project’s duration. IPR Associates & Environmental was selected to provide expert Asbestos Inspection services and independent Third-Party Air Monitoring for this essential undertaking.
Our engagement involved a comprehensive approach to asbestos management. Initially, our certified professionals conducted thorough inspections of Village Hall. This process included detailed site surveys, the careful collection and subsequent laboratory analysis of suspected materials to confirm the presence and type of asbestos, and a comprehensive hazard assessment to evaluate the condition and potential risks associated with any identified ACMs. The data gathered during this phase was instrumental in developing safe and effective plans for the subsequent hazardous material abatement.
Throughout any abatement activities, IPR Associates & Environmental provided crucial third-party air monitoring. This independent oversight ensured that air quality within and surrounding the work zones remained consistently within stringent regulatory compliance levels. Our air monitoring protocols encompassed baseline sampling prior to abatement, continuous monitoring during the work, and thorough clearance monitoring upon completion to verify the safety of the environment.
