Kings Plaza Mall, Brooklyn’s only enclosed shopping center and a major retail destination, undertook significant redevelopment projects between 2013 and 2018. A cornerstone of this period was the ambitious gut renovation and transformation of the former Sears anchor store, a multi-story structure integrated into the main mall. Such extensive work required meticulous environmental planning and oversight. IPR Associates & Environmental was engaged to provide essential Asbestos Inspection and Third-Party Air Monitoring services, ensuring these large-scale projects adhered to the highest safety and regulatory standards.

Our role involved conducting detailed asbestos surveys prior to and during the demolition and renovation phases. Given the scale and age of the structures involved, identifying and assessing any Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACMs) was paramount.
